After arriving in Sparta and I have been invited to a meeting as soon as I got off the trimere. When I saw who was present, I immediately realized that this meeting must have been important. It turned out to be about invading Troy. I inquired Agamemnon why he would want to do such a thing. He simple responded,
"For the money and for the gold!"
Judging by this remark, Agamemnon would be considered a greedy and selfish person and I wouldn't be surprised that if we lost, he would go mad.

Our meeting was interrupted when Helen of Sparta walked by and caught Menelaus' eye. Even I thought that Helen was beautiful, but I am married, so I want to stay faithful to my dear wife. The kings cast lots to see who would win Helen's hand in marriage. They put their royal rings into a goblet, and I, being married, had the honor of throwing the rings into the air. To decide who would win Helen, their ring has to be the closest to the goblet.

The person who would now become the husband of the most beautiful woman in all of Greece is...

... MENELAUS!!! I made the other kings swear to protect Helen if she were in any danger to honor his marriage rights

They are now married, but not happily. Menelaus has just paraded her through a crowd of kings, naked! I consider this unjust and should never happen to a woman!

Helen has just been kidnapped by Paris of Troy! This is apparently an act of war against Sparta and will not go unpunished. I now have to go with them, even if I didn't swear. I do not know the reason why, but they forced me to by threatening my son's life. I will go after them for this treachery!

We are on the trimere headed for Troy. It is stuffy, dark, and cold. The men are all snoring and breathing heavily. I hope I get to go home soon. I will keep you up to date on the latest!

I rate Sparta a measly 3/10 Odysseus Oars because of the limited sightseeing areas and the unfriendly and aggressive people.
