Odysseus eventually takes the armour with the help of the goddess Athena. The enraged Ajax swears to seek revenge on Menelaus and Agamemnon. Not before being tricked by Athena. Athena tricks Ajax into thinking a herd of cattle were actually greek leaders. Ajax slaughters most of them in his rage. When he comes to his senses, Ajax is shocked and ashamed of his actions and kills himself on a sword given to him by Prince Hector.

        Once again, Sophocles proves to be the genius that he is. This play set record breaking heights of 6000 drachma's on opening night! This play brings both emotionally touching moments, to fierce battle scenes which will hold you on the edge of your seat. The story line is very well written and definitely exciting to watch.
